WhatsApp To Allow Users Delete Messages After Sending & Track Friends
WhatsApp is all set to bring forth several features to Android and iOS devices through its latest update. One of the unique features would be the ability to delete text messages after sending. However, there might be another interesting feature that would allow users to track or spy friends.
WhatsApp is currently testing these features for future updates. The latest feature from the Facebook owned app is the ability to pinpoint the user's movement accurately. Not only does the app allow you others to know where the user is, but would also allow the contacts to see your actual location. Now, that's a smart move from the developers!
According to The Mirror, the app has named the new feature as Live Location Tracking. Through the feature, the users would be able to share their current location to those in their contact list through chat message or group message. Above all, what makes the WhatsApp feature interesting is the fact that users can share the real time location.
As per The Sun, WhatsApp is also expected to introduce another feature. It would allow users to delete text messages that have been sent already. Users can either edit or revoke the sent message and this saves the users from many embarrassments. But there's a catch. Users would be able to delete or edit messages only if the recipient hasn't viewed it yet.
Currently, the app allows users to delete messages from their own device, which remains visible to the recipient. The users need to press and hold the message they wish to edit or revoke.
WhatsApp has been testing the feature on iPhone beta software. There has been no information as when and if it would be available for Android users. Users having access to the beta system mentioned that the feature was disabled by default and the users need to know about it and make changes in the app settings itself.
