Find Out The Real Reason Why Most People Exercise And It Is Not Because Of Reducing Weight!
Some people think that exercising is only necessary to lose weight, but nowadays, more people engage in an active lifestyle to avoid illnesses. Therefore, reducing weight should be best left to having a proper diet, rather than breaking a sweat.
A recent survey by a global research firm named Mintel revealed that majority (64%) of the people who exercise on a regular basis do so because they want to improve their health while 45% of those who responded said that they want to avoid health risks in the future. Meanwhile, about 36% answered that they want to lose weight that's why they exercise.
While exercising is believed to help one lose weight, several studies, such as the one included in the medical peer-review journal BMC Public Health, say that vigorous activities lessen the risk of type 2 diabetes and coronary heart disease. This means that physical activities are more likely to be beneficial in improving the overall health than dropping extra pounds.
"There is not one pill that will do everything exercise does," Don Hensrud, the director of the Mayo Clinic Healthy Living Program said. As reported by Market Watch, the list of health conditions that adequate exercising prevent increases and it includes high blood pressure, diabetes, cancers, cognitive impairments, fibromyalgia, and recovery from fall or loss of balance which results to a broken hip.
The wonders of exercise not only works towards the development of physical aspects but also, it is beneficial to the mental and emotional ones. Unfortunately, not everyone is excited about incorporating exercise into their fitness regimen and this is despite the presence of gym membership. But the best thing about doing physical activities is that anyone can start as soon as they want, regardless of their age, status, etc. After all, exercise does not only make a person look good but also, it helps in making someone feel good as well.
