AMD Ryzen Processors Tested Under LN2 Cooling To Double Check Cold Bug Issues, Official Launch On March 2

The preliminary samples of AMD Ryzen have been recently forwarded to analysts for extreme cooling testing. These chip processors are set for official release on March 2.

HWBattle disclosed latest pictures indicating that it already obtained an AMD Ryzen processor, and an AM4 socket motherboard based on the X370 chipset. The chip has been tested on a BIOSTAR Racing X370 GT7 motherboard, which is a high-end hardware presenting the AM4 socket.

The first image was blurred but the second image attracts attention, Wccftech reported. The second picture displays a Windows logo and the CPU running under LN2 cooling. The image also shows the entire assessment in its functional mode with a multimeter displaying temperatures of -29C.

The reviewer said that the new samples arrived with a cold bug fixed. Extreme overclockers are aware that AMD Ryzen chips contained few cold bug problems previously.

The testing is, therefore, to double check any issues accompanying these latest AMD Ryzen processors. HWBattle didn't reveal the scores, clocks or performance attained during the testing period. Basing from the appearance, this was just a test ran in the processor under LN2 cooling. The site might show some results a few days.

Meanwhile, Videocardz managed to acquire an intriguing image of the so-called overclocking utility for AMD Ryzen processors. The screenshot shows that the system is running an 8 core, 16 thread Ryzen chip.

The overclocking utility can also be perceived close to CPU-Z. The utility enables manipulation of clock speeds for respective cores and loads of other features are expected soon.

It seems that the sample utilized by NAMEGT in testing is not directly from AMD. This is because AMD turns out to produce Ryzen CPUs and motherboards during a special event called Ryzen Day. It will occur a few days from now, but this occasion is only for particular reviewers.
