'Microsoft Surface Phone' News & Update: Device To Debut In Fall Of 2017 Find Out More Here!
Despite viral cancellation rumors, the release date of Microsoft Surface Phone is still being speculated for a 2017 debut. These speculations suggest that a release this year is very likely, most especially now that the developer has confirmed the arrival of another update following the Windows 10 Creators Update this April.
Latest updates suggest that the device could arrive at the same time as Redstone 3. Although Microsoft is yet to announce a specific launch date, The Verge reported that a 2017 release date has already been settled. Since it is rumored that the Redstone 3 will be released in the fall of this year, this could mean that Microsoft is planning to launch it along with the highly anticipated Surface Phone.
If speculations are to be considered, the Surface Phone will feature similar capabilities to the Windows 10 that is yet to be appreciated. In order to achieve this, the upcoming device needs to have powerful speculations that will defeat other flagships including the latest Samsung Galaxy S series and the iPhone.
Techtimes reported that there is a possibility Microsoft will ditch their smartphone plans and just focus on other areas where the company is performing better. This is due to the poor performance of the Windows Phone OS in 2016.
However, it is reported that the developer could have other plans, which may include showcasing the capabilities of the Windows 10 with the mid-range devices. Recent updates have also revealed that Microsoft is planning to launch the Surface Phone in three variants, which are the Consumer, Business and Premium variant.
The updates reveal that the Premium version will feature 8GB RAM with 500GB storage and a 4K display could also be in the cards. While the Business version is also said to perform well with 4GB RAM and 120GB storage, and the Consumer variant to sport only 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. But it is rumored that the RAM allocation for the customer variant can be maximized.
Fans should also expect the device to run on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or something different, which will be based on the variant. The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2 are scheduled to debut in April, which will be coinciding with the release of the Windows 10 Creators Update. Fans are hoping that the upcoming Surface Phone will also be released soon after.
