Apple might use the latest Ryzen 7 1800x chips of AMD for its iMac 2017 instead of the i7 chips of Intel. The 2017 version of iMac is one of the most highly anticipated hardware.

According to PC Advisor, the iMac 2017 will be integrating AMD's new Ryzen 7 1800x, which contain the capacity of a VR support. In fact, this is the long-requested feature from consumers. The 27-inch iMac 2017 is likely to get the most significant upgrades such as an OLED Touch Bar acquired from the MacBook Pro and more.

The AMD’s Ryzen7 1800x garnered a new record in a CPU performance benchmark. It also surpassed the Intel's i7 in terms of performance per watt. In addition, the latest chips from AMD match the decision of Apple to concentrate more on energy saving than on a maximum performance, Architosh reported.

Moreover, AMD’s Ryzen 7 1800x is "extremely Apple-esque," because it can produce remarkable performance at a much smaller wattage. Unlike the 140W of Intel's i7, the Ryzen 7 1800x and 1700x have thermal design points of 95W.

Furthermore, other benefits from AMD's Ryzen 7 1800x will be focusing on its tag price. It has a rate of $499, but it functions better than the Intel's i7 that is priced at $1,089.

The AMD's Ryzen 7 1800x is going to be used on the cheaper variants of iMac 2017. Apple will be also using the AMD's Polaris graphics set for its most-anticipated devices.

Apple is expected to unveil the models of iMac 2017 sometimes this March. But it still remained unofficial until no formal announcement from the company. Other reports speculated that the 2017 models of iMac would be launched during the Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference 2017 on June 5 to 9. The refresh for iMac was a long overdue since Apple released its latest model in October 2015.
