Dell's UltraSharp UP3218K Release Date, Price & Specs: 31.5-inch 8K Monitor Is Set For Shipment
The stunning $4,999 UltraSharp UP3218K monitor from Dell is already available for preorders. This is the world’s first ever 31.5 inches 8K display with a monster resolution.
Dell announced at CES 2017 that the UltraSharp UP3218K monitor is set for delivery on Thursday, March 23. But the truth is, the most-awaited display is ready for preorders only and is instead expected for shipment on April 17.
The UltraSharp UP3218K monitor would arrive with 33.2 million tiny squares beyond its 7680 x 4320 resolution. That is considered four times as many pixels as the existing 4K monitor. The latter, on the other hand, has pixels, which is four times as many as the regular 1080p display.
The new monitor of Dell also supports 100 percent AdobeRGB and 100 percent sRGB. With all its impressive specs, the UltraSharp UP3218K monitor, unfortunately, requires a high-powered PC to match its robust performance.
The UltraSharp UP3218K monitor is not designed for gaming purposes since it possibly restrains AAA labels and even a GTX 1080 Ti. As a result, tech enthusiasts who have been looking forward to the monitor got disappointed.
Furthermore, the UltraSharp UP3218K monitor is powered by a high-end Nvidia Quadro workstation graphics card for its glamorous display. With its definitely wide screen, the IPS panel boasts a 279 PPI pixel density that freely goes beyond the Retina bar for desktop computer displays.
According to 9to5 Mac, the UltraSharp UP3218K monitor triumphed over the 27-inch 5K LG UltraFine monitor in both pixel density and physical size. The IPS panel is almost the same with all of Apple’s laptops and iMacs. Therefore it features a highly vivid color and wide viewing angles of 178°.
The UltraSharp UP3218K monitor is likely to present 98% of the DCI-P3 color space for photography and video. A single-port is merely impossible, the device requires plugging in two DisplayPort 1.3 cable.
