Must Read: Rely On Peanuts For A Healthy Heart
Researchers reveal that the key to a healthy heart is peanuts! In today's world, the majority of people suffer from cardiac problems, and the maximum number of death is also caused due to cardio-vascular problems. But, if Peanut Institutes' research is to be believed, peanut is our knight in shining armor fighting off triglycerides and reducing chances of heart attack and strokes.
According to Mail Online, the research from Peanut Institute shows three ounces of the nuts with our meal reduces levels of harmful blood fat preventing cases of blocked arteries. It is highly controversial as many have questioned the portion size of nuts; however, the health experts reveal that three ounces of peanuts are three times more than the average size.
Accumulation of bad fat, cholesterol, and other substances creates plaques that lead to stiffening of arteries also known as atherosclerosis. This, in turn, limits and obstructs blood flow throughout the body putting pressure on the heart. The pressure is one of the main causes of cardiovascular disease. Peanut Institute suggests that every time we take a meal, it stiffens our heart as levels of triglycerides increases. This increase is a bad omen for the heart as it decreases the dilation of the arteries. Consumption of peanut with meal shows a reduced rate of stiffening. The peanuts ensure that the arteries do not get blocked by plaques, thereby posing no strain to the heart.
As per Men's Health, a test was conducted in this measure on 15 overweight, and obese men for the benefit of the study and results were published in the Journal of Nutrition. The test highlighted a 32 percent reduction in triglyceride in blood levels after consumption of peanuts.
For those who suffer from peanut allergies, fret not. National Institutes of Health has discovered a skin patch for peanut allergies. The patches were tested for over a year and had been hailed by experts as safe and easy to use.
