Apple releases on Apr. 3 the iOS 10.3.1 that surprised the public since the company did not make any announcement about it. It was only one week after the company unveiled the iOS 10.3, which is a major update for Apple Filesystem and Find My AirPods.

The iOS 10.3.1 contained bug fixes and is designed for iPhone or iPad’s security improvement as per the Apple’s release note. iPhone users are wondering why the tech giant company skipped the announcement before releasing the update. But Forbes reported that it was just a minor update and this might be the reason Apple did not announce about the revamp to fans.

However, recent reports are suggesting that Apple pulled out the iOS 10.3 update from the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c. The tech giant company didn’t release a specific reason for that. Apple, therefore, released the iOS 10.3.1 to fix issues on the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c caused by the iOS 10.3. Now, the freshly released update solved problems on the said devices, Apple Insider reported.

The iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c have 32-bit processors packed in an Apple A6 chip. If speculations are true, this might be the reason why the iOS 10.3 was withdrawn from the iPhone models and iOS 10.3.1 was released abruptly.

Aside from security patches and bug fixes, the iOS 10.3.1 also offers a bundle of latest features. The update includes a widget for Podcast, new iCloud section, improved settings menu, and enhanced animation. It also contained Find My AirPods service for the innovative earphones and more.

iPhone users who have not received notifications on their devices regarding the iOS 10.3.1 could update it manually. They will just proceed to Settings > General > Software Update on their device.

The iOS 10.3.1 is only less than 30 MB in size thus storage space is not a big problem. iPhone users need to wait but not that long before getting the update on their devices.
