iPhone 7 & 7 Plus' Touch ID Modules Can Be Recalibrated Only at Authorized Apple Outlets
In February 2016, many Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus owners saw their phones getting bricked as a result of their attempt to install iOS 9.2.1. At the same time, the users were receiving fifty-three error messages. Later it was found out that all these units of Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus had problems with the touch module ID, which were repaired by third party repair shops. Thus, Apple now makes it clear that the users must visit the authorized Apple outlets, to get their iPhones repaired.
According to Apple Insider, the fifty-three error messages were the outcome of certain sensors in the touch module ID used by Apple, which did not match with the parts that were used by the authorized repair shop. This led to a recent case, in which an Australian Regulatory Agency sued Apple for not allowing the users of Apple iPhone in Australia to have their iPhone's touch module fixed by the repair shop of their choice. A suit was filed against Apple for disabling several iPhones and iPads after third party repair shops repaired them.
Despite all the criticism, Apple still continued to disable iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus units if their touch module ID was being repaired by any third party repair shops. If there arise any requirements of replacing the Touch ID Button, then it must be recalibrated only at repair shops that are authorized by Apple.
Apple has made it clear that if any damage to the Touch ID Button or the Home Button is done by any other unauthorized repair shops, it cannot be replaced, reported Phone Arena. Hence, all users of Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus should make sure that they always approach the authorized Apple repair outlets for fixing the home button or the Touch ID!
