Olympian gold-medalist, Bruce Jenner, gets sued by the step-children of a woman who died during a car crash he was involved in this February.

According to Reuters, Jenner is being sued for negligence resulting in a car crash on a Southern California highway.

On February 7, Kim Howe died from the car crash which involved four vehicles, reports CNN. At the time, Bruce was driving a black Cadillac SUV, which was towing a trailer that held an "all-terrain vehicle" on it. A black Toyota Prius and Howe's white Lexus sedan were also part of the crash.

The crash is described as a "multiple rear-end collision" by CNN. According to the authorities, six people were hospitalized after the incident, five of them children. Howe's children, Dana Redmond and William Howe, filed a complaint about Jenner with the Los Angeles Superior Court.

The former athlete's publicist, Alan Nierob, made no comment concerning the lawsuit, when contacted by CNN. However, Neirob did release a statement from Jenner to Howe's family one day after the accident.

The statement read, "My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved one, and to all of those who were involved in or injured in his terrible accident. It is a devastating tragedy, and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible."

CNN states that all the surviving drivers involved in the accident have been cooperative, including Jenner.  Jenner also had a field sobriety test, which he passed, and answered questions voluntarily, adds the report.

Despite Jenner's seeming compliance with the ongoing investigation, it seems like Howe's family is blaming the reality star for the accident.

Reuters mentions that Howe's children claims " [Jenner] struck Howe's car from the rear, propelling her automobile into oncoming traffic, and she collided head-on with another vehicle. The lawsuit describes Jenner as violating the rules of the road and 'negligent, careless and reckless.' While, Howe is described in the suit as 'acting with due caution, attention, and care.'"

As of now, investigators are focusing on all the people involved in the car crash, not just Jenner, states CNN.

Jenner is known to the younger generation as the patriarch of the Kardashian family from the hit reality show, "Keeping up with the Kardashians" on E!. He recently publicly revealed himself as a transgender in an interview with Diane Sawyer this April 24.
