Ellie Goulding Workout & Exercise Secret: 'Don't be Too Hard on Yourself'
Despite Ellie Goulding's singing career and hectic schedule, the singer centers her life on health and always finds time for fitness.
Ellie Goulding, the 28-year-old English singer and songwriter reveals her workout and exercise secrets at PopSugar. As an international singing sensation, she travels a lot. Whether Ellie is on the road or attending an event, she makes sure to book a hotel that has a fitness center. The singer believes that one of the best ways to beat jet lag is to go on a gym sesh.
If there are no gyms, suitable alternatives would be going for a run or taking a class at a local fitness studio like Barry's Bootcamp.
While she can work out on her own, Ellie says she likes to work out with someone. "The best way to push your limits is to find a buddy who will push you further," she said via PopSugar. "You work for them." She revealed that she loves to train with her boyfriend, Dougie Poynter, and his McBusted bandmates, according to UK Daily Mail.
Resting your body after intense workouts is the key to making the exercise more effective. Ellie says that it's okay to take a break. "It's good to have that goal, but also don't be too hard on yourself - you need the yin to the yang," she told PopSugar.
The Love Me Like You Do singer recently posed for the cover of June issue of Women's Health Magazine UK. She posed in tight gym wear that proudly showed off her toned abs, arms, and slim waist.
"I'm not afraid of a guy saying to me that I'm strong. And I will happily post pictures of my muscles on Instagram - because I'm proud of being a strong girl," she told the magazine.
On training in the gym filled with men watching her, she shared, "Gyms are still dominated by men. I train in a local gym sometimes and there's a running track in it. I'll run up and down and not a lot of women would do that. And least of all me because I don't want to draw attention to myself at the best of times."
However, the singer won't stop her fitness routine despite it "just because they're staring at me as if what I'm doing is out of the ordinary or unladylike. F*** that."
She calls the training with her boyfriend Dougie and his band mates in McBusted fun and not hard. The singer finds it nice to be exercising together with the guys. "Harry [Judd] is actually really good. I won't say 'big' because his head will swell but he's an inspiration because he trains really hard.
"And so we will often all go to the gym together and a couple of the other girls - the wives - will come down as well and it's great because my band don't bloody train. It's actually nice being with guys who train so much," she shared via UK Mirror.
