Fitness training couple, Chris and Heidi Powell, will be helping couples achieve their weight loss goals and live a healthier lifestyle in Season 5 of "Extreme Weight Loss," which premiered Tuesday, May 26, at 9 PM ET on ABC.

The training duo will help any pair get fit whether they be siblings or spouses, reports US Weekly. They have also shared some advice on how to lose weight with a partner. Check the list below:

1. Be vulnerable

Chris advises couples to be open and honest to each other because it is necessary to start a "lifelong change" like living healthy.

2. Be Supportive

If a partner decides to be honest and to open up, Heidi says to "view that vulnerability as a gift. Just thank them for being authentic and vulnerable and real, even if it's something that hurts...choose as an individual to love your significant other unconditionally and without judgement."

3. Lead By Example

Heidi suggests going for the changes you want in life even if your significant other does not want to change. She says, "The more you realize you're not dependent on that other person and you can just be happy - and not rub it in their face - the more likely they are to jump on the bandwagon as well."

4. Keep Setting Goals

"[EWL participants are] constantly setting the next goal and moving toward that so that they can constantly see progress," says Chris.

5. Don't Be a Statistic

Heidi says, "All too often we allow statistics to dictate our future. We do ourselves a disservice and don't think we are good enough or worthy enough to be that 10 percent [who keeps off the extra weight]."

The first episode for this season of "EWL" features 42-year-old twins, Robert and Raymond, reports TV Grapevine. With the help of fitness training couple Chris and Heidi Powell, the two brothers will work hard to meet their weight loss goals and get back into shape.

Aside from Chris and Heidi, the twins will also get help and inspiration from Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Byron Scott and James Worthy, who are guest starring in the premiere episode.

Dr. Holly Wyatt, associate director of the center and medical director for "EWL", reviewed the show's latest episodes and gave an advice to others who also have fitness goals through her blog.

According to PR Web, in Dr.Holly's latest blog, she says the twins took control of their lives and played the hero despite all the obstacles thrown at them.

She adds that people should start being their own heroes by taking small steps towards their big goals, just like what the twins did.
