Celebrity Trainer Harley Pasternak Reveals One Big Fitness Tip Adopted by Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga & More
Fitness trainer to the stars Harley Pasternak has recently revealed to Billboard the key to losing weight and keeping it off.
Pasternak has a long list of celebrity clients, which includes Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, multiplatnum artists like Bono and Rihanna and his close friend Kanye West.
In his latest book entitled "5 Pounds: The Breakthrough 5-day Plan to Jump-Star Rapid Weight Loss (and Never Gain it Back)" which was released in March, Pasternak wrote the key to losing weight and keeping it off is to develop healthy habits in life, Yahoo has learned.
When it comes to health and fitness, the 41-year-old celebrity trainer does not seem to be a big fan of diet trends or working out like crazy to burn fat. He says, "Not only are those things not fun, they are not sustainable."
In his interview with Billboard, he particularly gushed about the gluten-free fad. "Truth is, less than 1 percent of Americans are actually allergic to wheat," he said.
As for working out, Pasternak had this to say: "Working out for hours? It just makes you hungry." Keeping in line with his fitness philosophy, Pasternak does not put his celebrity clients through grueling hours of exercise.
Instead, the celebrity fitness coach instructs his superstar clients to simply walk 10,000 steps and do 10 minutes of resistance moves daily. Pasternak said many of his clients wear FitBits to count their steps, reports E! Online.
When it comes to dieting, Pasternak has his own rules, which are included in his book. He specifically highlighted five daily must-dos in order to live healthy. He even singled out the "Holy Trinity of Satiety": protein, fiber and healthy fats.
The fitness coach dishded that his celebrity clients try to follow the five daily must-dos. "Every night my clients email me about the five things," he said.
However, there is one star client who seems to be a little stubborn when it comes to following Pasternak's diet and fitness advice. Speaking of Kanye West, the celebrity trainers said, "it's tough getting him to work within a structure."
Pasternak jokingly added, "He's more likely to send an email mocking something I've worn!"
Nevertheless, Pasternak considers Kanye West as his close friend. The two even had one "mind-blowing" hiking experience in Hawaii, reports Daily Mail. Pasternak and Yeezus came across "an abandoned minefield" on the Pacific Islands and they were "nearly blown to bits!"
