Melissa McCarthy flaunted her 50-pound weight loss and stunned the audience when she attended the premiere of her movie, "Spy," in Berlin, on May 26.

McCarthy, 44, shed off 50 pounds by following a high-protein and low-carb diet.

"She's been making small changes and seeing big results," an uncited source told the Inquisitr. "It's given her a real confidence boost."

According to the news site, McCarthy decided to lose weight and turn a new leaf to a healthier lifestyle to be a better role model for her kids.

"Melissa knows that fans love her big and beautiful, and she's not obsessed with dieting, She's looking for a happy medium. Melissa realized she wasn't being as healthy as she could be. She wants to set a good example for her kids and she wants to be around to become a grandmother too," a source close to McCarthy said.

McCarthy previously told Good Housekeeping that she does tennis and Pilates.

"Sometimes I wish I were just magically a size 6 and I never had to give [my weight] a single thought," the actress said. "But I am weirdly healthy, so I don't beat myself up about it - it wouldn't help, and I don't want to pass that on to my girls."

She added that she almost had surgery because her post-pregnancy weight gave her back pain. Thankfully, she found Pilates.

"You need to give yourself a break [after childbirth] to get your body working again," she said. "I ran right back to work. My back was just destroyed after pregnancy. I almost had to have surgery, until I did Pilates and rebuilt my body."

It seems Melissa is also venturing into the fashion world with a brand new clothing line for plus-sized women, according to More magazine.

Her daughters, Vivian, 8, and Georgette, 5, contributed to the designs of her clothing line called Melissa McCarthy Seven7.

The comedienne, who also works as a writer and producer, admitted that her clothing line is "consuming" and that "[she doesn't] hand off things very well."

Her manufacturing partner, Sunrise Brands, didn't expect McCarthy to be so involved in her clothing line. But because the brand has her name in it, McCarthy admitted that she didn't want to pass the opportunity for others to feel good about wearing her line.

"I just figure if it has my name on it and I want to make people feel good about wearing it, I can't pass it off," she explained.

Her clothing line is slated to be launched on August. It is composed of clothes in sizes 4 to 28 and will be available in her own website MelissaMcCarthy.com, Nordstrom, Macy's and Bloomingdale's.
