Kate Hudson Fitness Secrets Revealed: What's Her Diet & Exercise?
Kate Hudson's secret to a perfect bikini body has finally been revealed. The mother of two maintains her fitness through a low-carb, high-protein diet along with Pilates, yoga and dance workouts, reports Celebrity Health Fitness.
Hudson gained 70 pounds in both of her pregnancies back in 2004 and 2011.The award-winning actress, who weighed 184 once, decided to go on a low-carb, high-protein diet to lose the baby weight.
According to the Inquisitr, Hudson does not believe in diet secrets, she believes losing weight and maintaining a healthy body is about eating right.
"You got to eat right. I always say that you know, it's like everybody wants some sort of secret and there just isn't," the 36-year-old actress said.
Hudson once told Glamour: "I'm healthy but I'm not a preachy person. I'm doing the best that I can. I believe in green juice, which is a lazy way of not eating greens..."
She added: "I try to live by the basic rules, which is watch your sugar, watch your gluten, watch out for too much dairy, I try not to eat too much red meat. And I try to not eat too much fish.
After losing the baby weight, Kate switched to a low-carb diet consisting of only 1,800 calories a day.
In addition, she does an elimination diet or juice cleanse two times a year, reports Celebrity Health Fitness.
As for Hudson's exercise regimen, she says she used to workout six hours a day to lose the baby weight.
However, after losing the extra pounds, Hudson has dialed back her exercise routine to only 20 minutes a day.
"I'm a big believer in doing 20 minutes of exercise a day. I love skipping with a rope because it's one of the hardest cardio exercised you can do, but it's so easy," Hudson said.
"I do three sets of three minutes; I'm always shocked at how sweaty I get," she said.
In addition to skipping rope, Hudson regularly has workout sessions with celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson.
The daughter of actress Goldie Hawn seems to be an avid fan of core workouts like dancing and Pilates.
"The things that I've seen the best for women have been anything that's real dance, something that elongates, and really really strengthens. So, Core Fusion, Tracy Anderson, Ballet Barre, Pilates, I think those things for women (are great) because they center on the core," Hudson gushed.
The "Something Borrowed" actress is also a big fan of yoga, which she claims tones her muscles and relaxes her mind.
