Natalie Portman on Health & Beauty: 'Diet is a Big Part of it'
Natilie Portman recently revealed her diet and body and beauty regimen, which mainly focused on eating healthy.
According to Daily Mail, the Oscar-winning actress has been spotted several times running with her husband, choreographer Benjamin Millepied.
Other than running, Portman also does barre workouts, resistance training, and frequently swims up to a mile to stay in shape.
In addition, the "Black Swan" star continuously practices some of the ballet techniques she learned during the filming of the movie. Mary Helen Bowers, a former member of the New York City Ballet, taught Portman the techniques, which helped the actress develop a lean body for her award-winning role.
Sharing her secret to luminous skin, Natalie told Yahoo, "Diet is a big part of it. I'm vegan, and I drink a lot of water. If I have dairy, I break out immediately."
Natalie lives in Paris with her husband and their child, and told Yahoo that she stays away from the country's delicious cheese products and croissants as well, reports Celebrity Health Fitness.
"All the baked goods are made with butter, so I don't have croissants either, which is a challenges," explains Natalie.
Aside from diet and exercise, Natalie shared with Yahoo some makeup essentials that she use everyday.
To cover up her dark circles, Portman says she uses Diorskin Star Concealer. The actress adds that she uses Diorshow mascara No. 90 Pro Black to make her eyes look bigger and more open, since they always look closed when she wakes up.
Sharing a trick she learned from a makeup artist about mascara, Portman says, "....focus on the base of the lashes to make them look really dark and full."
To finish off her lips, Natalie uses another Dior product, named Addict Lip Glow No: 001. "This is amazing because it brings out your own lip color, and it's super-moisturizing," she says of the lip product.
As for skincare products, Natalie says she uses Lucas' Papaw Ointment, an Australian balm, which she suggests applying anywhere that is dry.
She also washes her body with Dr. Bronner's Lavender Castile Soap. She makes a comment about the soap, saying: "This organic British brand makes great moisturizers. They're really clean and free of all the bad chemicals - plus they smell fantastic."
While she takes good care of her skin, Natalie's hair regimen is quite simple. Due to her hectic schedule, the star admits to simply blow-drying her hair at night after her kids go to bed or just sleeping with it wet.
The hair care product she uses is made by a hairdresser in Paris named David Mallet, whom Natalie claims she loves. The product that Portman uses is labeled Hair Serum #DM027.
The 33-years-old actress says she alternates between Mallet's serum and Moroccan oil to treat her hair.
