It looks like the music industry has a new queen bee who's excited to start her reign. Better move over, Taylor Swift; Katy Perry is now the highest-paid female artist in the whole world.

Forbes Magazine has finally released its much-awaited World's Highest-Paid Celebrities of 2015 list and the names included have definitely surprised the fans.

Sitting comfortably at the No. 3 spot, with an impressive $135 million income this year, is none other than the "ROAR" singer Katy Perry. She is the top female earner on the list, beating "bad blood" frenemy Taylor Swift, who landed at the No. 9 spot with an estimated income of $80 million this year.

According to Daily Mail UK, Perry has reportedly earned $303 million from her music and other related sources, like her successful "Prismatic World Tour", in the last five years. The singer states that her skill as an entrepreneur, being her own boss, and running her own company have helped her reach the top.

Perry has been catapulted to the spotlight by the release of her second album, "One of the Boys", in 2008, followed by her equally triumphant albums like  "Teenage Dream" and "Prism". Since then, the singer has been selling over 11 million albums and 81 million singles, cementing her mark in the industry. Perry says she wants to be an inspiration to other females and does not want to start any unwanted rivalry.

Earlier this year, reports circulated that Swift's single, "Bad Blood", is about hers and Perry's falling out. Whether or not the rumors are true, MTV notes that the Forbes list could have made all Swift's fans upset as she is believed to be always on top.

TSwift fans, however, can find solace in the fact that Swift and boyfriend Calvin Harris were officially named the highest-paid couple of 2015, with Harris taking the No. 17 spot due to his estimated $66 million income.

As expected, boxers Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Manny Pacquiao have been named No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, thanks to their bankable boxing match last May which helped them earn a combined estimated income of $460 million.

It is interesting to note that previous top contender Beyonce is now at No. 29 with an approximated $54.5 million in earnings; while reality star Kim Kardashian landed at No. 30, grossing $52.5 million income. Rounding up the top 5 category are boy band One Direction and comedian Howard Stern, with an estimated income of $130 million and $95 million, respectively.
