'Teen Wolf' Season 5 Spoilers: Lydia Wants to 'Master' & 'Learn New Powers'

"Teen Wolf" writer and producer Jeff Davis teases that Lydia may be put in danger as she learns how to attack and defend herself while discovering her Banshee ways.

To briefly recap, episode 3 of Season 5 shown on Monday was a terrifying episode where Tracy Stewart (played by Kelsey Chow) turned into a kanima, got hair tail cut off by Kira Yukimura (played by Arden Cho) and eventually got killed by the Dread Doctors.

Lydia Martin (played by Holland Roden) was badly injured during the fight of Kira and Tracy. But it seems that Lydia will be stepping up her game when her wounds heal, possibly in the next episode.

In a report by E Online, Jeff Davis confirmed that Lydia will be learning the ways of the Banshee, and in doing so will also learn how to protect herself and fight by mastering her own power- and even gaining new ones this season.

"What Lydia realizes this season is that she is not quite the fighter that her friends are and she gets tired of it," Davis said.  "She wants to learn how to fight and how to protect herself and that leads her to path where she wants to master her power and learn new powers as well. She's going to learn different skills from different sources."

As for other possible plots revolving around Lydia, Realty Today reports that she will also have a new love interest, set to be played by Cody Christian.

Davis shared to Seventeen that "Teen Wolf" Season 5 will be more horrifying, as terrifying things will happen to the characters. The writer added that this season will be packed with "big emotions" with the introduction of new villains. Events in the series will also strain and test the relationships of some characters.

"We want fans to feel big emotions this season. We really tried to go for big, epic, character moments and conflicts in the relationships," Davis explained.  "And, of course, we wanted to bring in new villains and new bad guys and do some terrifying stuff, so this is quite a bit a season of horror as well to make it scary."

In addition to the terrible things that are yet to come, the new season will also have more interesting storylines and romances for some characters, such as Kira, Hayden, Liam and of course, Lydia.

"Teen Wolf" Episode 4, Season 5, will air on July 13.
