KFC Menu 2015: Meet 'Chizza', the Pizza on a Fried Chicken
There are so many weird eats lately that even big companies like KFC is joining the bandwagon. According to KFC Philippines, it has recently unveiled its latest KFC menu for 2015 and has aptly called their new product the "Chizza."
People Magazine writes that KFC has finally identified what people truly need–and that is the desire to eat pizza and chicken at the same time. As it turns out, KFC has also created its best solution to this demand–pizza with a fried chicken crust topped with sauce, pepperoni, onions and peppers.
KFC Philippines has released through its Twitter account the Chizza, a portmanteau of chicken and pizza, and has reached global trending status due to its weirdness, yet most people seemed to like it.
CNBC News adds that even though the Chizza looks like a chicken parmesan without the pasta and is only available in the Philippines at the moment, a US-debut may be in the works anytime soon.
As KFC has done several other food hybrids in the past years, this kind of creation did not come as a surprise. There was the 2010 Double Down, a sinful 540-calorie product that recreates two fried chicken buns with bacon and cheese filling, says Consumerist. And who could forget last year's Double Down Dog, a tempting treat which, according to MTV, has around 962 calories?
9News compares the Chizza to a classic pub parmigiana in Australia, which has a total calories of 460, according to My Fitness Pal.
There is no specific nutritional information provided for the Chizza as of this writing but, apparently, it is not the first of its kind.
Metro UK has reported that a similar product has been released in KFC Hong Kong. It is the "Napoli Crispy Pizza Chicken," a new variant of the classic Original Recipe chicken with tomato sauce and mozarella-cheddar mix breading.

This has sparked mixed reviews in Hong Kong as many people believe KFC is running out of ideas. However, with KFC and Pizza Hut coming from the same company, probably a hot-wing stuffed crust pizza is already in the works? It is difficult to predict KFC.
