One Direction star Louis Tomlinson might be overjoyed with the news of his impending fatherhood but fans of the popular boy group took to social media to express otherwise.

TimesLive reported that Tomlinson is expecting a baby with stylist Briana Jungwirth. Apparently, the two are just "friends" but are both really happy with the news. The parents-to-be met through mutual friends. They were also frequently seen on a series of nightclub dates in Los Angeles ever sinceTomlinson's break-up with long-term girlfriend Eleanor Calder last March.

Eleanor, who has several million followers online, has been silent on her social media accounts lately, DailyMail noted.

Louis and Briana are set to become parents early next year, with Briana believed to be 11 weeks pregnant. Correspondingly, Louis has been accompanying her to prenatal visits.

While the 23-year-old singer is getting ready to be a "hands on" parent, his fans on Twitter are seemingly not ready yet. "HMM.. HE LOOKS NOTHING LIKE A DAD TO ME," a tweet reads.

The news dealt a huge blow to One Direction fans since Zayn Malik's departure and temporary turmoil within the band are still fresh in memory. Now with Tomlinson's new role in a couple of months, fans fear that the once popular quintet will be reduced to a trio or worse, split-up completely.

Despite the setbacks, Tomlinson insisted the group had no plans on breaking up. "We're having too much fun!" the singer, who has started his own recording brand, said to People two months ago.

As the news crept through different forums and social media Tuesday, die-hard fans were quick to speculate that this may yet again be a prank since it would be the 2nd time the singer publicly broadcast such claims.

Last April 1 2012, he had tweeted, "Can't believe I'm going to be a Dad! Wow!!" Tomlinson was obviously joking at that time. However, news came from another alleged source this time, and One Directioners are fearing it might not be a joke anymore.

The report may come as shocker to those who know the couple but they have the full support of their respective parents, according to reports. Louis' Mom works as a midwife and will be guiding Briana throughout the pregnancy.

"She's been able to give advice and has been a great source of support for Briana," a source of Hollywood Life shared. The source also revealed that Louis has been looking to buy a place to live near Briana in LA.
