'Batman: Arkham Knight' PC, PS4 & Xbox One Update: Interim Patch Coming in August
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced that they will be releasing a patch for the PC version of "Batman: Arkham Knight" to smoothen its performance issues.
The patch is scheduled to be released in August of this year in order to address some of the issues that PC users are experiencing during the game play, according to Tech Times. The fourth installment of the Arkham series, "Batman: Arkham Knight" was released in June and is a cross-platformer game available for Sony Playstation 4 (PS4), Microsoft Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.
The gamemaker announced their update via the Steam Community.
"As an update, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Rocksteady and our partners are targeting an interim patch update for existing players to be released in August. This update will address many of the issues we listed in our June 27 update," the company said.
"We will provide additional details as we finalize that interim patch over the coming weeks."
Although the company did not explicitly say which issues were going to be fixed by the incoming patch, they announced their progress update last June 27 via the same website.
Some of the "key areas" that may be rectified by the patch are:
- NVIDIA SLI bug fixes
- AMD Crossfire
- NVIDIA/AMD updated drivers
- System Memory & VRAM usage
- Low resolution texture bug
- Options for graphics settings menu
- Framerate hitches and performance
According to the website We Got This Covered, Warner Bros. was aware that there were many glitches and bugs for the PC version of the game. However, the company still chose to release it together with other console versions.
Massive technical problems were reported left and right days after the release, which led to Warner Bros. pulling the PC version games off the shelves. According to another report by WGTC, it seems the blame was placed upon the development of the game's PC port by Iron Galaxy, an outsourced porting studio company which consists of only a staff of 12 people.
Game director and cofounder of Rocksteady Games, Sefton Hill tweeted that their developers and engineers are working hard to deliver the fixes.
"Totally supported decision to suspend PC version. We have our best engineers at Rocksteady working like crazy to help fix the issues ASAP," Hill said via Twitter.
In another tweet, Hill said that while PC fixes are on the way, updates for the console versions are ongoing.
"To clarify: PC is top priority for engine team but there'll still be updates for consoles too. Not all issues are fixed by same people," Hill tweeted.
