With the hype that has been caused by the announcement of Warner Bros. that a separate "Wonder Woman" movie is set to be released this 2017, many fans are wondering what the plot will be and who will join the Israeli beauty queen Gal Gadot for the cast.

The Wrap learns that Chris Pine has already closed a deal with Warner Bros. to play Gadot’s love interest, Steve Trevor. The actor is said to join the DC Movie-verse in a multideal which may include sequel options. There will be plenty of action to keep Steve Trevor busy to act as just a mere love interest, although the story for the plot is still under negotiations.

Chris Pine has been the subject of several movie rumors, starting off with Warner Bros’ Green Lantern Corps, but it seems that the "Wonder Woman" theory has been the right one all along. Patty Jenkins have been tapped to direct the film with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Charles Roven and Richard Suckle as producers. Talented scriptwriter Jason Fuchs will pen the screenplay.

Colonel Steve Trevor may not be as famous amongst comics fan but he is the lead combat and command troops that is solely supporting the Amazonian star of the film, according to Screen Rant. However, modern takes on Trevor’s role have totally sidelined the love interest plot as he is shown as ARGUS’s most reliable field agent.

Furthermore, Pine has shown and proven his talent as compared to other actors considered for the part. This means fans shouldn’t put into the backseat Pine’s role to be merely that of a leading man just because he will not get a spinoff movie under his name. When news broke that he is playing the part, most DC fans rejoiced as they know Pine will definitely put to justice Steve Trevor’s role through his magnificent acting skills.

E! Online adds that Chris Pine’s addition announcement has came in after Michelle MacLaren has been taken off the project. Warner Bros. said that due to creative differences, the studios and MacLaren have decided not to continue with their plans to develop and direct the movie together.

Pine is well-known for his role as Star Trek reboot’s Captain James T. Kirk and has gained fans after doing "The Princess Diaries 2" and "Into the Woods."
