'Kingdom Hearts 3' Release Date, Trailer & News: Tetsuya Nomura Shares Game Development
Gamers waiting for "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be pleased to learn that the Square Enix development team is making strides in the production of the game. In fact, Direct Tetsuya Nomura recently talked a bit about the games development.
Nomura states that the basic systems and mechanics of the game are almost finished, while the small elements of the game may still need some work, states Segment Next.
Speaking with the Official PlayStation Magazine in the UK, Nomura said:
"For the most part we've established the ground foundations, like the basic systems and mechanics of what's going to go in the game. Development of that is pretty much complete."
He added that since the game is an HD title, a little more elbow grease is needed from the developers, states PlayStation Lifestyle. "...it's now building the resources, and development of the 'mass' elements of it, like mass production of the areas and the actual things that are going into the game.
In terms of certain elements, like mini-games and other small items, the progress seems to vary.
Some of the smaller elements are already in the polishing stages, while the ground has yet to be broken on other items.
Nomura reassured fans, however, that at least the basic blueprints of the smaller items are set.
"The basic structure of what's going to go in the game is set, it's now a matter of mass production of the different elements," he explained.
While fans are no doubt glad that the KH3's development is going well, Nomura kept mum about the one aspect of the game all gamers are at the edge of their seats about: worlds.
According to Master Herald, Square Enix has already stated that players will get to see new worlds in KH3, but have only released sparse details about two new worlds.
So far, it has been confirmed that the Japanese game developer is working on the world of "Tangled" and "Hercules" for "Kingdom Hearts 3."
Nomura has already officially announced that Rapunzel from "Tangled" will be featured in the game. Developers are working on the look of Rapunzel's seemingly never-ending hair, before submitting it to Disney for approval, Nomura added.
As for Hercules, there has been no word as to whether or not Hercules or any other characters from the Disney movie will be featured in the game.
There are rumors, however, that the world of "Brave" might make it into the game. Furthermore, Square Enix might also be working on a world inspired by "Guardians of the Galaxy."
Meanwhile, some gamers are speculating that a "Frozen"- inspired world might be added as well.
However there are some who are on the fence about a world based on "Frozen," as seen on the video below.
There has been no official release date for KH3, but it has been announced that it will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
