The latest installation to the "Legend of Zelda" series has taken inspiration from "Four Swords Adventures," featuring multiplayer dungeons, allowing up to three gamers to play together.

According to Cinema Blend, Nintendo UK recently announced on Twitter that "Triforce Heroes" will be released in Europe on Oct. 23.

There has been no announcement as to when the game will be released in North America. However, Cinema Blend speculates that if Nintendo follows the traditional time table for its game releases, "Triforce Heroes" will likely be released earlier in North American than in Europe.

As a result, the site estimates that the new Zelda game for the 3DS will most likely come out on October 20 in the United States and Canada.

According to Gaming Bolt, the new Zelda installment will allow up to three players to play together. They will have to make their way through dungeons by solving puzzles and fighting bosses. Cinema Blend adds that there will also be plenty of loot to uncover.

Each of the three players will have three different outfit options, each individually equipped with a special boost or ability, reports Toon Zone. However, it is not mentioned if two or more players can choose the same outift.

Toon Zone adds that the three different Links can create a Totem, by stacking on top of each other, in order to solve puzzles or reach higher grounds.

If there is no one to play with, there is a one player option for the game, in which the other two characters turn into AI dolls. The single player will be able to move the paper dolls around with the touchscreen.

Gaming Bolt notes that "Triforce Heroes" runs on the same engine used in "The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds." In addition, unlike previous multiplayer games, "Triforce Heroes" supports online play, allowing gamers to connect wirelessly through the Internet. Meanwhile, for local team ups, gamers can connect through Download Play.

No announcement has been made concerning an open-world Zelda title, so "Triforce Heroes" will have to satisfy Zelda fans for now. Other 3DS games Nintendo has already announced include: "Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon," "Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer" (Sept. 25),"Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash" (Oct. 9), and "YO-KAI WATCH."

In addtion, Nintendo also announced the launch of "Metroid Prime: Federation Force" for the 3DS. Gaming Bolt explains that "Federation Force" is based off of the Metroid franchise and will be a multiplayer arena shooter game. "Federation Force" is due to come out sometime in 2016.
