'Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4' characters may not include Mecha Naruto
"Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" will not be featuring Mecha Naruto, despite the announcement of a bigger character roster. According to Geeks Snack, the disappointing news was announced on the official Twitter page of Naruto Games.
For those new to the game series, Mecha Naruto was last seen in "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution." He was a brand new character at the time, who was specifically made for the game and not seen in the anime version.
Geeks Snack explains that Mecha Naruto has a unique fighting style and special moves that the other characters cannot use. He was so good that gamers wanted to see Mecha Naruto return in "Naruto Shippuden: UNS 4."
However, Bandai Namco has officially stated that Mecha Naruto will not be featured in UNS 4. Furthermore, there is no hope for seeing Mecha Naruto in future installments of the game series as it was also announced that he will remain exclusive to "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution."
Fear not, however, as there will still be a good list of characters to choose from in UNS 4. According to Xbox Acheivements, there will be more than 120 characters to choose from in the roster, including new characters, like Kaguya Otsutsuki, the Mother of all Chakras.
Geek Snack adds that gamers will get to choose to play characters from the anime's main storyline and even new characters introduced in the Naruto movies, like Boruto or Sarada.
Unfortunately, some characters on the roster will only be available if the game is preordered.
Xbox Achievements adds the fourth installment of the game will take place after Ninja Storm 3. Gamers will also get to see the end of the Great Ninja War and the massive fights that ensue after the war is over.
As for the actual combat mode of the game, a couple things have been changed. For instance, matches will now follow the more traditional best two out of three formats seen in other fighting games, instead of the one off rounds featured in the other Naruto Shippuden games.
Players will still have to choose up to three characters to form a team and can gain certain boosts and combo attacks with certain character combinations. Sadly, all the characters in a team share the same health bar no matter who is fighting, but gamers can now link their team's Awakened forms to deal more damage.
On a good note, however, all the characters get boosts and tools even near defeat, so that they can pull off a last-minute victory just like in the anime!
"Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" will hit stores on Feb. 4 and 6 in Japan and North America, respectively, reports News Hub.
