'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' release date, cast, & updates: Kylo Ren figure gives hints at plot of film
Kylo Ren speaks for the first time, and surprisingly, the first words from the mysterious Kylo Ren came from an action figure."Star Wars" merchandise will be released this Friday, Sept. 4, states CNN.
One of the most notable figures was undoubtedly Kylo Ren, which says a couple lines that have fans wondering about the plot. Those lines include:
- "I've been waiting for this for a long time."
- "Is it true...you're just a scavenger?"
- "Don't be afraid"
- "I feel it too"
- "You know what I've come for"
- "Don't fight it...you know you can't"
- "I'm immune to the light"
- "That weapon is mine"
- "Together, we will destroy the resistance and the last Jedi."
Out of context, these lines are extremely cryptic and can hold several meanings. However, IGN still tries to crack a couple of the lines.
According to the video seen below, the line "I've been waiting for this for a long time," could relate to Ren meeting an aged Luke for the first time.
It would make sense the Ren has been waiting for a long time to meet Luke, since Darth Vader seems to be his idol. In addition, IGN speculates that the line "The weapon is mine" refers to Darth Vader's lightsaber.
Ren's wardrobe is undoubtedly styled after Darth Vader's, down to the mask he wears and even the sound of his voice. So, having the legendary sith's lightsaber would complete his look.
Meanwhile, the line "I'm immune to the light" could be referring to the fact that Kylo Ren prefers the dark side. But JJ Abrams has already explained on Movie Pilot that Ren does not have midi-chlorians, little creatures who help humans communicate with The Force.
Futhermore, knowing that Ren cannot use The Force may explain the lines "Don't fight...you know you can't" and "Together, we will destroy the resistance and the last Jedi."
One of the lines reveals that Ren plans to dismantle the resistance and kill off the last of the Jedi. However, it would seem that he needs help to complete his plan. After all, he is only one person and he cannot control The Force.
So, the line "Don't fight...you know you can't" could be Ren convincing either Finn or Rey to take in The Force and wield it. Ren could be training Finn or Rey to control The Force, so that he has help defeating the resistance and killing off all the Jedi.
However, all of this is mere speculation. To find out the truth behind Kylo Ren's lines, fans will have to wait until the premiere of "Star Wars: The Force Awaken" on Dec. 18.
