WWE News: Triple H announces NXT women's championship Iron Man Match; Bayley vs. Sasha Banks
Sasha Banks, former women's NXT champion, will be facing Bayley at the NXT Women's Championship. Triple H announced the news just recently on his official Twitter account.
Included in the post is a picture of Triple H with the two ladies. Bayley can be seen holding her newly won championship belt, while Banks looks like she is planning to tackle Bayley as soon as there is an opportunity.
Willam Regal, the general manager of NXT, has confirmed some details about the fight. The two NXT champions will once again fight for the title in an Iron Man—or in this case woman—match.
The entire match will last only 30 minutes. Each wrestler will need to score the most pinfalls, submissions, disqualifications or count-outs in order to win the half-hour iron man match.
The Bayley vs. Sasha Banks match will be the main event at the NXT TakeOver on Oct. 7, reports the official WWE website. The match will premiere at 8 p.m. ET or 5 p.m. PT exclusively on the WWE Network, reports Wrestling Inc.. Digital Spy adds that the event will take place in Orlando, Florida.
This upcoming fight is Banks' chance to regain her championship title. According to the WWE website, Bayley finally beat Banks at the NXT TakeOver in Brooklyn.
Bayley has fought long and hard in order to face Banks. She defeated Emma, Charlotte and Becky Lynch to reach the title match against Sasha in Brooklyn. When Bayley finally reached her goal, The Boss simply dismissed her as a challenger.
Banks had already won a place in the WWE main roster in the Divas Revolution sector by the time Bayley was set to face her in Brooklyn. So to Banks, Bayley was just small fry.
However, Banks terribly underestimated Bayley and lost her title in the process. Bayley was not one to take the challenge with a grain of salt.
Remembering Banks' rude dismissal and disrespect, Bayley fought with fueled anger at Barclays Centers. At first the Team B.A.D. member tried to re-injure Bayley's hand, to no avail.
Despite the pain and some nasty spills, Bayley fought Banks with all her might. She eventually won the title match against Banks doing a reverse hurricanrana off the ropes and a Belly-To-Bayley Suplex.
