It has been confirmed that "Once Upon a Time" season 5 will include an LGBT relationship, but will it be between Mulan and Aurora?

The fifth season of the show is almost upon us and it seems like Storybrooke has a lot of stories in store for us particularly one that explores an LGBT relationship.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis were vague about confirming if the two characters would be Mulan (played by Jamie Chung) and Aurora (played by Sarah Bolger).

"We know that community have been big supporters of the show and we would love to be able to tell a love story that reflects that," said Kitsis.

"We want the show to reflect the world as it is now," said Horowitz. "Whether that's going to be with any particular character, we're not going to say."

"It's something we want to do this year," Horowitz explained. "It's something we think is due and important to do on the show. This is the world we live in."

According to the outlet, the vagueness of the show runners may imply that the theme may not just be limited to Mulan and Aurora but to other characters both old and new.

According to Bustle, the speculation increased when Jamie Chung confirmed that she will be appearing in multiple episodes for the season.

In a twist, it was revealed last October that Chung's character Mulan is gay and has feelings for Aurora when it was initially thought that the warrior was in love with Aurora's prince, Phillip (played by Julian Morris). However, Mulan went on a quest with Robin Hood's Merry Men to put some space between her and Aurora after finding out that the latter was pregnant with the Prince's child.

Chung told E Online that she was glad about the progression of her character's storyline.

"When I was filming that, it was like an ongoing inside joke between Sara and I. Like, 'I secretly really care about you,'" Chung said. "And the audience as well, there was this conspiracy online, like, 'Mulan loves Aurora!' And I'm really glad that the writers listened because I really do think that's what they planned from the beginning. They're all about twists and like, why not? It felt so natural to begin with."

In the report by Bustle, it seems that Aurora and Mulan aren't the only potential LGBT couple in the making. Another possible pairing would be Emma and Regina as they initially were enemies and over the years become close "friends."
