'Days Of Our Lives" spoilers: Lani Price joins Salem PD; is she a long lost child?
- comments
Lani Price will begin work in the Salem Police Department and rumors abound that she might have old ties in Salem.
Price (played by Sal Stowers) is originally a cop from Miami and why she joined the force in Salem is still unclear. In a report by Celebrity Dirty Laundry, it is inferred that Lani might be the long lost child of Abe Carver (played by James Reynolds) and Tamara Price (played by Marilyn McCoo). Carver apparently had an affair with Tamara in 1986 and out of it was Lani, who understandably took her mother's maiden name, as her father's identity may be unknown or withheld from her. In the same report, Lani will reportedly be anxious to work with Carver and he will be surprised as to why she knows a lot about him.
According to the International Business Times, seeing as Lani is a police woman, she might be instrumental in the arrest of the Necktie Killer who has plagued the neighborhood.
According to soapshows.com, the Necktie Killer might be Clyde (played by James Read) or Ben (played by Robert Scott Wilson). In the same report, it was revealed that Marlena (played by Deidre Hall) is the first surviving victim of the Necktie Killer. She was saved by Chad (played by Billy Flynn) and just as he was able to shake off the Necktie Killer from Marlena, she fainted. When she woke up, she assumed the killer was Chad. However, Abigail (played by Kate Mansi) stands by Chad even though the evidence points at him.
"Abby also doesn't know the danger her mother and brother are in. Jennifer is well aware Clyde is not what he seems and fears for Abigail becoming his daughter-in-law. Tomorrow, Jennifer has a run-in with Clyde and without thinking, she says something she shouldn't. Will Clyde realize JJ said something to her about the Salem drug ring, making her a Weston target?" the teaser for the next episode stated.
In other news, it looks like Eve (played by Kassie DePaiva) won't be returning to Salem in the future. According to a blog entry posted on kassiedepaiva.com, it confirmed that DePaiva was fired from the show.
"As the sand runs out of my hourglass over at 'Days'...I have no regrets," the actress wrote. "I had a truly remarkable experience there. From the beginning as Eve showed up in town and throughout her bumpy ride through Salem it has all been a good time for me."
She went on to thank the actors and actresses who helped her during her stint as Eve.
As to why she was fired, DePaiva wrote: "It saddens me to have been let go from the show just as Eve was finally finding her footing... But that is the way the Soap business goes. Characters come and go just as actors, writers, and producers. Some we love... Some we hate... But fortunately for all of us the stories still go on. Keep watching and here's to 50 more years of Days of our Lives!!!"
