Despite not having any cliffhangers in the finale of last season, we will find that Booth has gone missing. With this news, agent Grace Miller will appear to question Brennan about the disappearance of her husband.
The season 11 premiere of "Bones" will have two parts. The first episode is titled, "The Loyalty In the Lie" and the timeline will be six months after the last season's finale. Season 10 ended with Booth and Brennan deciding to leave the Jeffersonian in favor of a less dangerous job occupation as they already have 2 children together.
According to the report by E! Online, Booth is missing and Brennan recalled that her husband left the house at 8:36 in the morning before his disappearance. Agent Grace Miller (guest starred by Kim Raver) appears to ask Brennan questions about Booth.
"You are asking strictly emotional questions. It is well documented that emotions are not my area of expertise," Brennan says to Agent Miller in the teaser clip. "My conclusion is that you were deliberately attempting to make me feel uncomfortable in order to extract something you think I am hiding. If that is the case, I no longer choose to participate in this discussion."
Raver revealed to TV Line that the premiere will open with its usual mysterious murder and that Booth is being suspected as a murderer as the evidence points to him.
"But for [Miller], Booth has not been the 'perfect' guy that everyone else sees him as," said Raver. "She rightfully brings up a lot of his past, and that's where a lot of the contention comes in."
She added that the involvement of the highly-logical Brennan will "change the game" because she is personally involved with Booth as his wife.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunners John Collier and Michael Peterson revealed that since Brennan left her job, Arastoo (played by Pej Vahdat) has since taken her place and is "likely the person to succeed" her.
Additionally, Peterson and Collier stated that the upcoming season will be them "playing with the expectations" of the fans of the show.
"Cam and Arastoo get shaken up in the very beginning. There's going to be a shift in Angela's and Hodgins' relationship around episode 10 and we'll see another one for Booth and Brennan later on in the second half of the season," they said.
They added: "Everything is going to be true to the characters but there are going to be some major, major developments."
"Bones" will be back in its 11th season Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
