A teaser website for the fourth Shin Megami Tensei game has been unlocked by fans and was subsequently revealed by ATLUS, Nintendo-Insider reports. "Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final" is being produced by Kazuyuki Yamai, directed by Satoshi Ohyama. The character designer is Masashi Doi and Kazuma Kaneko for demon designs. The music will be composed by Ryota Kozuka.

The new franchise game was revealed through its official Twitter account.

According to the teaser website, there will be a live stream at Nico Nico Douga regarding the game on Oct. 11, Sunday at 7pm JST. Details will also be released by then. It is known that "decide" will be a crucial keyword in the game. The new game will be another 3DS release and despite having a similar name to its predecessor "Shin Megami Tensei IV," which was released on May 23, 2013 in Japan, it will be an entirely new game and not a remake.

According to Japanese website Famitsu, a 10-page feature for the game will be released in this week's issue of the Famitsu magazine. The release date is said to be on Feb. 10, 2016 in Japan and will be 6480 yen plus tax per copy. There is no word of when the new game will be released to the US and the UK.

"Shin Megami Tensei IV" has drawn high reviews from game reviewers and critics. The franchise signature is about working with demons and the skill they possess is important as you go through the game. According to the review by Polygon, making decisions whether in battle or out of it is crucial and may affect your game play one way or another.

The game protagonist is Flynn, a Samurai who protects the medieval kingdom of Mikado. He is joined by three other comrades, Walter, Jonathan and Isabeau. Chaos ensues when a "Black Samurai" comes to the kingdom and starts transforming its inhabitants into demons. The pursuit of the mysterious figure opens up the protagonist and his friends to demons and angelic forces alike.

The game play is from a third-person perspective and the battle from a first-person perspective. By completing quests, the characters level up and earn the in-world currency "macca" which can be used to buy items and equipment. There are main story quests and side story quests that can be optional.
