For many, Pinterest is a wonderful tool to "pin" a lot of things, including recipes. In the quest to recreate some of these wonderful holiday pins, some are bound to fail.
While some are naturally gifted at DIY, that doesn't deter others from trying which is great but it can lead to frustration. What better way to ease those away than simply laughing at it and looking at the bright side. Hey, at least you tried!
Here are some of our favorite Pinterest holiday food fails:

This pin originally came from The Girl Who Ate Everything. It is a straight-to-the-point recipe that would be a huge hit for parties, but somehow the recreator got lost along the way.
2.) Santa hat cupcakes

What better way to celebrate the upcoming Christmas season than with cupcakes decorated as little Santa hats? The recreator did just that, but her envisioned outcome didn't just go the way as planned. According to With Sprinkles on Top, the original photo comes from Pinterest but she made a recipe of her own.
3.) Stained glass cookies
Cookies are always welcome for munchies during the holiday season, but what if they're made of candy glass? They look even better! The recreator tried her best, good thing there's always a next time!
If you're looking for a great recipe, head on over to Evermine Occasions where the author gave helpful tips and tricks on how to achieve the stained glass effect on the cookies.
4.) Peppermint patties These candies are a refreshing blend of dark chocolate and peppermint confection. Many people claim that it is easy to make. Maybe for some who are adept in the kitchen, while the rest of us... well, we can try.

If you want to make your own homemade peppermint patties, go to Sweet & Crunchy Blog. Hopefully, your candies turn out better!
5.) Mini gingerbread mug cookies
These cookies are supposed to be edible and add a cute touch on a mug of hot chocolate or eggnog. While the recreator nailed the cookie part, a little more effort on making the decorations perhaps?
