"Bloodborne" Update Patch 1.08 is now available. Players can now resume playing the game online after the "emergency maintenance."
PlayStation Japan posted and update earlier today that the patch has been completed.
"The emergency server maintenance which occurred from yesterday (1-Dec, Tues, around 15:00) has been completed," the announcement said.
More issues and bugs have been fixed on top of it as well.
"Also in regards to the issues like NPC survivor state not handed over properly which occurred in the previous update, we have provided the latest update (1.08) where such issues have been fixed. We are deeply sorry to cause such inconvenience."
Players can now resume playing the game after updating to the current version "Bloodborne" version 1.08.
A few days ago, the online servers of "Bloodborne" were taken down for "emergency maintenance," but rumors are swirling that it may be because of a glitch that allows players to unlock the "The Old Hunters" DLC for free.
"Bloodborne" servers have been taken down for "emergency maintenance," according to Sony Japan. However, gamers can still play the game offline.
"We are currently conducting emergency maintenance on the game servers," the announcement said, as translated by Kotaku. "The maintenance should be complete within a few days. We will update you again once the maintenance ends."
The video game company, FromSoftware did not say why the servers are down, but it may have something to do with a glitch that allows players to unlock "The Old Hunters" DLC for free. The $20 content was released last week.
A team member of the company, lead hosting engineer Tim Wernicke said in a Reddit thread that there were "exploit and serious issues that exist in the game" and adds that it was brought to their attention via a feedback.
"The game is currently undergoing emergency maintenance, and we're working nonstop to get some things patched and back online. So a huge thank-you to everyone here for the feedback, and please be patient while we work to get things restored," Wernicke wrote.
When asked for the specific reason for the maintenance, Wernicke only said: "I apologize that I can't be more specific, but I wanted to let you know that we value your feedback, and what you're doing here is really helping. So, thanks!"
