'NBA 2K16' updates: Marvel apparel out for MyPlayer mode

It seems that Marvel is further expanding its marketing reach to include superhero-themed apparel for the "NBA 2K16" game. Attack of the Fanboy reports that the announcement was made via "NBA 2K16"'s official Twitter page, where they wrote, "Excited to announce partnership w/ @Marvel ft. apparel of your fav Super Heroes! #BeTheStory in #NBA2K16"

The announcement included a photo of several clothing options for gamers' favorite players, including Spidermal, S.H.I.E.L.D., The Punisher, Hydra, and Captain America-themed designs, among others. The apparel may be used on a gamer's character when in MyPlayer mode. International Business Times reports that the clothing line will also include hoodies, basketball shirts, and regular t-shirts inspired by Marvel characters.

Gamers can also expect more from "NBA 2K16" this holiday season, as Venture Capital Post reports that there will be great discounts in store for MyPlayer Team Gear, free VC, unlocked legendary NBA stars and new locker codes.

Fans of the massively successful basketball video game can also enjoy 30 percent off on all MyPlayer team gear, a treat that will be available for a limited time only. New locker codes can also be accessed to enjoy up to 1,000 VC and unlock amazing game items and NBA superstars such as Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Shaquille O’Neal, Isaiah Thomas, Stephen Curry, Larry Bird and Karl Malone, and more.

Touch Arcade reports that 2K Games is treating fans to some great cards beginning December 4 to 10. Just play "My NBA 2K16" on the same device and receive an Epic-level rarity card in each of the games after December 10.

"NBA 2K16"'s official Twitter page also announced that two new box types have been added to MyTeam: Dynamic Rating and Moments Boxes. The description reads, "Can't get enough myTEAM packs? Save yourself some VC by purchasing in bulk. Two brand new box types have been added. Dynamic Ratings and Moment Boxes are available now!"

MyPlayer celebration animations are also at 25 percent off for a limited time, so grab these amazing holiday deals before they expire. Celtics and Kings fans can also enjoy a 40 percent off on merchandise for a limited time.
