Fans of the popular street racing film "Fast and Furious" are looking forward to seeing the next installment of the franchise. In the last film, despite Paul Walker's untimely passing, his character survived in the film. Will fans see Brian O'Connor in "Fast and Furious 8?"
With Walker's unfortunate demise, the "Fast and Furious" team will never be complete ever, unless of course, the production keeps using CGI over his brother just as they did in "Fast and Furious 7." Unfortunately, it is unlikely. Parent Herald previously reported that that there will be no more Walker CGI in the sequel hinting that Paul has moved on.
Per franchise producer Neal H. Mortiz, "We're lucky that we have a lot of great characters. Unfortunately, we don't have Paul anymore. His character... has moved on. But we feel like there's a lot still to be mined. That's where we're starting. We're really talking about the characters, where they all sit right now. It's a huge challenge."
However, there might be a chance that fans will see O'Connor again. Yibada reported that the character would be brought back in multiple flashback scenes through CGI. If this is true, then perhaps, Walker's younger brother Cody Walker might return to reprise his role.
According to CrossMap, producer and star Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham are the only confirmed cast for "Fast and Furious 8." However, there are talks that Michelle Rodriguez and Lucas Black will be reprising his role on the next movie as well.
Meanwhile, Popsugar noted that Kurt Russell, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and Chris "Ludacris" Bridges might also return for "Furious 8" but, at the time, they are not yet confirmed.
Helen Mirren expressed her desire to star in "Fast and Furious" calling it her great ambition. She added that she wants to be a "mad driver" in the film, Yahoo! Movies has learned. Luckily, there are chances that she might be among the new faces that we will see in "Fast and Furious 8."
Diesel has no issues with the addition of more female characters in the upcoming film. In fact, when he was asked if he wanted to see the "The Queen" star in the next "Fast and Furious" film he said, "Of course I would! Who wouldn't? It's Helen. Amazing," Access Hollywood reported.
Unfortunately, at the time, just like the rest of the cast, Mirren is not confirmed for "Fast and Furious 8" yet.
"Fast and Furious 8" premieres on April 17, 2014.
