'Legends of Tomorrow' Trailer, Cast & Premiere Date: 'Arrow' Spinoff Finally has a Jonah Hex

"Arrow" spinoff series "Legends of Tomorrow" has cast its very own anti-hero Jonah Hex in Johnathon Schaech.
Jonathan Schaech will reportedly be joining the cast of "Legends of Tomorrow" as Jonah Hex. He will reportedly appear in 11 episodes of the show's first season.
To give a little background on Schaech's character, Hex is described as "a true legend of the Old West, a morally ambiguous gunslinger with a penchant for danger. Surprisingly, he knows a thing or two about time travel and the future, but is at home in the Wild West. He's been battling outlaws and gangs for a while now, and advises the team to be extra careful when they arrive in the small town of Salvation."
Executive Marc Guggenheim stated that it was imperative to include Hex as the series is centered on time travel where the upcoming series will happen in the Old West, reports E! Online.
The time travel theme is exactly the reason why known characters from other series such as "Arrow" and "The Flash" will not be showing up in the shows in the meantime.
"The Legends of Tomorrow" features heroes including Rip Hunter (played by Arthur Darvill), Sara Lance (played by Caity Lotz), Leonard Snart (played by Wentworth Miller), Jax Jackson (played by Franz Drameh), Ray Palmer (played by Brandon Routh), Martin Stein (played by Victor Garber), Kendra Saunders (played by Ciara Renee) and Mick Rory (played by Dominic Purcell).
Other characters expected to show up soon in a crossover are Damien Darhk (played by Neal McDonough), Ra'as Ghul (played by Matt Nable, Cisco Ramon (played by Carlos Valdes) and older or younger versions of Barry Allen (played by Grant Gustin) and Oliver Queen (played by Stephen Amell), according to Entertainment Weekly.
"In the pilot, our characters are sort of plucked from 2016 and put on a time ship and travel throughout time. The fact of the matter is by the nature of that, they don't have any opportunity to interact with the characters of Flash and Arrow as far as Season 2 of Flash and Season 4 of Arrow are concerned," Guggenheim explained in an interview with IGN. "We want to create a time travel show, and once you're doing that, you're not interacting with your other characters, which I think we were all very fine with."
The return of these characters to their original shows including lesser-known characters involved in it will not be happening anytime soon. Fortunately, the show runners already have an idea how to put the characters back should they come to that point in the series.
DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" will premiere on Jan. 21, 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
