Zach Galifianakis 70-Lb Weight Loss Tips & Tricks: 'Hangover' Actor Sheds Pounds With Alcohol-Free Diet

"Hangover" actor Zach Galifianakis lost around 70 pounds according to Celebrity Health Fitness, and his weight loss was made even more noticeable when he attended awards events and with recent several paparazzi shots.
The actor began his weight loss journey on 2012. The website adds that Galifianakis has struggled with alcohol and has cut it out of his life after two guys spat in his face after a driving incident in New York. He was crossing the street and was furious when a guy driving a Jaguar cut him off.
"As he cut me off, I hit the car as hard as I could with my hand," he said. "I turn around, and it's two huge, 6-foot-6 guys. They both, at the same time, spit in my face!"
He added that the whole incident made him rethink his alcohol habit as he was humiliated and terrifed after what happened.
"I don't know if you've ever been spit in the face non-sexually, but all I remember is being so stunned," Galifianakis explained.
According to Examiner, the actor got on an alcohol-free diet since then and has shrinked to half his weight this year. He shared that giving up drinking beer has helped him shed the pounds away.
"I stopped drinking and I just kind of put the weight off," he said. "I was having a lot of vodka with sausage. Delicious but bad for you."
The actor reportedly got so slim that he had to wear a prosthetic belly while filming his movie, "The Hangover Part III."
Just this year, the actor was spotted with his much thinner frame, shorter hair and kempt facial hair while going on a lunch date with his wife Quinn Lundberg in Venice, California this week, according to Mirror.
He expressed that the "Hangover" movie should have just been one movie instead of trilogy. However, when he reprised his role as Alan in the next two movies, he says he doesn't "regret" it/
"That was a chunk of my life that I do not regret at all..." he said. [But] I wish we had just done one. I think leave well enough alone sometimes."
In an interview with Los Angeles Times, Galifianakis explained why he will be returning to making appearances in television shows.
"The movie comedy business is a little bit one-note right now. It would be hard to do something like "Baskets" in a movie," he said. "I think a lot of Wall Street guys started getting involved in the movie business to be honest.... TV somehow filled the void."
