Microsoft Surface Hub conference room PC amazingly surpasses the imagination of everyone as it turns out to be in high demands that the company is even reported to be out of stock.
Surface Hub is a multi-touch conferencing system available in two flavors (55 and 84 inches) which was launched in late March 2016, after several months of delays and a price increase.
The surface hub offers a smart mix of video conferencing, digital white-boarding, and collaborative working for a surprisingly low price of $6,999 for the 55 inches version and $19,999 for 84 inches version.
In the subsequent months following launch, demand outnumbered supply for the devices, it was reported that users experienced backlogs for several months, before they could take shipment of their Surface Hubs, according to Ars technica.
Although we do not know the numbers involved as Microsoft has not release unit shipment numbers for any of its surface-branded devices, however on November 12, the company provided a few related data points around especially around the surface hub conferencing system.
Microsoft officials however said that, they have sold Surface Hub conferencing systems to more than 2,000 customers in 24 markets since March, with an average deal size being approximately 50 units. They said that their supply situation is now under control.
According to ZDnet, Julia Atalla, senior director of Microsoft Windows and Devices, said, "Regarding shipping, Microsoft is at scale and inventory is ready to ship Surface Hub now," said
The officials also said they will be adding a Surface Hub Try-and-Buy program in the U.S. and Europe this winter, and later in Asia Pacific. These resellers will be authorized to provide customers with Hubs for a period of 30 days before they can decide whether or not to buy.
Surface Hub is Microsoft's successor to its large-screen Perceptive Pixel displays. It runs a custom version of Windows 10, are pre-assembled and customized multi-touch, digital-ink-enabled collaboration systems.
Microsoft first launched its Surface Hub systems in January 2015, with availability slated for September 1, 2015. Google is aiming to release its own Version Surface Hub competitor, the Google Jam-board in the first half of 2017. The officials said that November was the company's best month ever for consumer Surface sales.
The faster and longer-lasting Surface Book with Performance Base is now available in Australia and New Zealand, US and Canada. It will be sold in Austria, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Switzerland and UK in the early quarter of next year.
