Learn The Requirements Of Microsoft Windows 10 PC For VR Secured Headsets

There's no need of high-end devices to plug majority of VR headsets into PCs. This was read from the message of Microsoft to all headset users.

The company created simple hardware demands for the upcoming VR headsets to be utilized with PCs, and because they want all PCs to acquire and experience VR headsets.

Windows 10 PCs' pre-requisite for secured VR headsets is not applicable to completely assimilated headset computers like Microsoft's HoloLens.

Microsoft previously revealed that VR headsets would start at $299, Computer World stated in their recent report. They only need a requirement just to create a place in plugging low-end VR headsets into PCs for movie watching, gaming, and simple applications.

As per the Channel 9, a more loaded computer gives a greater VR experience, said Mingfei Yan, senior program manager at Microsoft. He had his presentation during the WinHEC exhibit in Shenzhen, China last week.

The VR headset needs a laptop with a corresponding Core i5 7200U CPU of Intel, which is based on Kaby Lake, Intel's HD 620 combined graphics as well as 8GB memory with two channels.

However, the hardware requirements will be more challenging in the coming year. The additional requirements will be released alongside with the Microsoft Creators' Update for Windows 10. The CPU specifications become more versatile, but a PC should have a separate or powerful combined GPU.

The minimum laptop requirement should be an Intel Core i5 chip having a GPU of Nvidia GeForce GTX 965M, AMD RX460, or DirectX 12-compatible GPU. A desktop, on the other hand, requires at least same as Core i3 or an AMD FX4530 CPU plus Nvidia GeForce GTX 960/1050, AMD Radeon RX460, or a DirectX 12 compatible GPU.

Both need 8GB of dual-channel RAM and over 10GB memory as well as HDMI 1.4 for 60Hz head-mounted displays and HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort for 90Hz VR headset displays.

Lastly, a PC with USB 3.0 Type-A or USB 3.1 Type-C port with DisplayPort Alternate mode can be an option.
