Director of "Jurassic World 2" J.A. Bayona, has revealed his working experience with "Jurassic World: director Colin Trevorrow. He also expressed his love for using the filming techniques in the sequel which are already used for "Jurassic Park".
"Jurassic World 2" is a follow-up to a blockbuster movie "Jurassic World" released in 2015. The first installment takes place on the fictional island of Isla Nublar, off the pacific coast of Central America where a park that is populated with cloned dinosaurs has operated for ten years. However, the park falls into chaos when a cloned dinosaur breaks loose and goes on a rampage.
According to reports, J.A.Bayona says while expressing his work experience, "Colin Trevorrow is working on the script. I think both of us love animatronics and practical stuff. We are going to try to get as much as possible."
He hopes to go back to the more real and animatronic feel of the first Jurassic Park movie, although CGI is still going to play a part. But nowadays, the truth is, the audience is so used to CGI, and they are less and less used to animatronics. It is kind of difficult to fit them in and it needs to be very specific if you want to use them, he says.
Bayona added that he is aware that "Jurassic Park" is Steven Spielberg's creation and it is like a baby to Trevorrow. He also noted that he is fully aware of the fact that he is working for a big franchise.
According to Movienewsguide, Bayona is a big fan of Steven Spielberg, he said he grew up watching his movies and he loves them. He is also very excited to work with Trevorrow. Jurassic World 2 is currently in pre-production stage. Bayona will direct the film and Colin Trevorrow returns to work on the script.
According to DigitalSpy, Bayona has also teased the story of Jurassic World 2, he said, "I think one of the reasons they called me is they wanted to go darker and scarier."
The storyline for "Jurassic World 2" has not been officially revealed, but it can be deducted to go in a darker direction from what Bayona said. It was recently revealed that Michael Giacchino will handle the score for "Jurassic World" follow up. Fans are excited about the musical score of the movies as it returns to the darker and scarier side.
Pre-production on the movies continues in London. While Trevorrow is in early development on Episode IX, Bayona is preparing for press duties on "A Monster Calls" scheduled for release January 1, 2017. "Jurassic World 2" hit theaters on June 22, 2018.
