- comments
Samsung has released Focus app like BlackBerry's inbuilt application BlackBerry Hub. It merges emails, contacts, and calendars in one place.
It is written in Android Police that, Samsung Focus is more oriented towards business users whereas BlackBerry Hub aims to please users. Focus is compatible with every email service and support IMAP and POP3 email as well.
As written in Digital Trends, Focus is an all-in-one productivity app that brings together emails, contacts, memos, and calendar through a tabbed interface. One can find content from all these by universal search functionality. Focus tab shows major notifications with a card-based surface.
The user can set notification of any keyword, this app will notify whenever a registered keyword pops up in any of the supported categories. In addition, the user can also set their priority senders to see their messages first on the list.
The user can set up conference calls within the app by sending meeting requests through email. Focus takes care of priority messages and appointments and automatically sorts email and scheduled events in order.
Focus app has the ability to sync with a PC and a unified email inbox which can take multiple emails from different places. Unlike the other email apps, Focus does not operate on cloud servers in order to restrict the access of user's data.
It is written in the app description on play store that "Samsung Focus does not operate any cloud servers. It connects only to the actual mail servers. It stores your account's data on the device, and Samsung Electronics never access any user data."
Focus is available in Play Store only for Samsung devices as it is a Samsung app and it will refuse to launch if installed in any other device. Devices must run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow or above. It is available free on Play Store.
