Marijuana a Wonder Weed? More Researches Needed to Discover the Medicinal Cannabis

Marijuana is mystery plants that possess valuable benefits nut its perils are also notable. The science today need to delve deep into the properties of this wonder weed and discover what is yet hidden from human experience.

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine in Washington, D.C., released a report on January 12th for widening the circle of the researches about the potential advantages of medical marijuana, its products and applications.

Big gaps in the information available about cannabinoids and other chemical components of marijuana are creating a big obstacle in creating a chain of useful data about the drug. The largest hindrance is the label "Schedule 1 drug" which is stuck to cannabis by the United States Controlled Substances Act, reports Science News.

According to LA Norml  a 2015 survey reveals that 22 million people from age 12 to older in the US alone ingested marijuana in some form in the month of December. The majority of them intended recreational benefits and only 10% of the total consumed marijuana for sole medical reason.

The ratio of medicinal use to recreational use pulls the attention as the drug contains huge medical effects that can rescue the humanity from ailments and pains but due to insufficient data about the weed's application as a treatment of ailments, people refrain from its consumption.

The sparse available data collected through scanty studies suggests that smoking marijuana is unlike smoking tobacco and does not lead to neck, lung and head cancers.  And cannabis link to diabetes and strokes is still unclear.

There are no findings that strengthen the theory of marijuana use for the cure of post-traumatic stress disorder, Tourette's syndrome and epilepsy or other serious ailments.

Experts and researchers are optimistic about the future of medicine marijuana considering the drug a major breakthrough in the therapeutic world.
