The 9-year-old Persian cat (Sinbad) has been brought to The Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago after he was found with a matted fur in his owner's basement. In addition to that, Sinbad was observed to be malnourished and have difficulties in using his back limbs due to his five pounds of matted fur.

In some reports, it was stated that the cat's owner was an elderly man who could not take care of his own self due to his age. This is one of the reasons why he surrendered Sinbad to the Society so they could take over in attending his cat's needs.

According to the Fox News, the staff of The Anti-Cruelty Society had patiently shaved Sinbad's matted fur off to make him feel better. They even use anesthesia in the hour-long procedure to lessen the pain as they shave off the fur. After shaving the cat, it had appeared that he weighed less than seven pounds. Moreover, the humane education specialist (Elliott Serrano) had mentioned how Sinbad had bore the process.

"He was so sweet and tolerant during the process that we knew he was a special little guy. After all, that he's been through, he's a sweet, loving cat. How can you say no to that?" he added.

After the shaving operations, the team had force feed him to keep his digestive system working until he fully recovers as stated by Daily Mail. At first, Serrano had temporarily taken Sinbad home to monitor his wellbeing as he progresses. Throughout the cat's stay in his house, he had noticed how adorable the cat could be. He had mentioned that Sinbad was seating on his chest while purring and chirping loudly.

That is when Serrano had realized that he could not part himself on the cat and decided to foster him. He made sure that he was giving Sinbad the right amount of tender loving care that the cat deserves.
