‘Outlander’ Season 3 Premiere: Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe Characters’ Reunion A Steamy But Stressful Affair

While waiting for the "Outlander" Season 3 release date announcement, here are some exciting details to chew on. The on screen lovers Jamie, played by actor Sam Heughan, and his partner Claire, played by actress Caitriona Balfe, will  definitely meet again once more in the coming season.

At the moment though, it is still unclear if the two will be seeing immediately when "Outlander" Season 3 premiere date arrives or at a later episode. What is known however, is that the reunion will be one that will elicit a rather unusual mix of emotions from the parties involved, it will be both steamy and fraught.

The second season ended with the lovers separated by time and distance. In a decision reached by both lovers, it was decided that their child should be brought up in a safer environment and so Caitriona Balfe's character Claire and to leave behind Sam Heughan's Jamie, to return to her present time so that their child may be born in a more modern and safer times.

Fans were likewise a bit worried given the uncertainty of the relationship between Sam Heughan and Catriona Balfe's characters. However, fans can now relax a bit as the pair is set to be reunited once again in the coming "Outlander" season 3.

In fact, the latest confirmation can be deduced by the presence of both Sam Heughan and Catriona Balfe while on set, Mail Online reported. Both actors were seen filming late last year in Glasgow's West End confirming that Claire will still be travelling back in time to meet her lover.

But by the time Claire manages to return, not everything will be the same as when they parted. Apparently, there will be a very big gap in time between her coming back to her present and her return to the past to meet Jamie.

It will take an agonizingly long twenty years before Caitrona Balfe's Claire will be reunited with Sam Heughan's Jamie in the coming "Outlander" Season 3. Thankfully, the actress already revealed something about what it is going to be like when the two finally manages to be together again. "It's also very fraught," Balfe described what the meeting could be like in an Elle report.

Meeting someone after a long time is bound to be a bit awkward. But then again, it could get a bit steamy as well reports the publication, a possibility that was not denied by the actress. She merely deflected by saying that, having lost her objectivity, she is not in a position to determine how steamy the encounter could get.
