‘Clash Royale’ Clan Chest Updates: Supercell Improves Chances Of Getting Legendary Cards

"Clash Royale" players will have a more enjoyable gaming experience up ahead. Developer Supercell has made some tweaks to the game mechanics involving how the Clan Chest works with the aim of giving players a greater chance of Legendary drops.

The Clan Chest was introduced via "Clash Royale" December 2016 update.  It is a shared chest for all clan members where crowns gain from regular battles are now added to the Clan Chest which offers the chance to gaining great Legendary drops.

When the Clan Chest was introduced last December, clan members may upgrade it up to the tenth tier as explained by Clash Royale Tools. The second level or tier unlocks at 100 crowns, the second at 150 until the tenth unlocks at 550 crowns. For the clan to increase the tier to its highest level, a total of 3,250 crowns has to be earned during the 7-day period.

Of course, the guaranteed gold and cards gets better with each increase in Clan Chest level. At tier 1 Clan Chest, players get 180 gold with the potential to earn 30 cards (guaranteed 3) while a tier 10 offers the enticing loot of 3,150 gold and a potential 525 cards (guaranteed 52 Rare and 5 Epic).

However, the January changes the crown requirement needed for the Clan Chest to reach tier 10. Instead of the previous total 3,250 crowns to unlock the last level, the new Clan Chest level 10 only requires 1,600 crowns to unlock, Clash Royale Arena reported.

But there is a draw back. The "Clash Royale" update changed the Clan Chest event duration to only three days instead of the previous seven days. These means that clan members need to be more active during the 3-day event to reach to hurdle, but with a drastically lessened number of crowns requirement, it is still possible.

In addition, it appears that the chances of getting a Legendary card has significantly increased as well. Assuming that a "Clash Royale" clan manages to consistently unlock a level 10 Clan Chest every week, the new update means that there is an average chance for them to get 3.9 Legendary cards for a 52-week period compared to the 3.76 cards in the previous mechanics.
