On 2016, ESPN's sports reporter Erin Andrews was diagnosed and fortunately treated for cervical cancer. An interview with MMQB has revealed how Andrews got a call from her physician while she was at a New York Giants training facility on Sept 24.

According to Daily Mail, Andrews' doctor called for the results of her test which shows that the ESPN reported had cervical cancer. The doctor advised for a surgery in the soonest possible time. The call took place while Andrews was reporting the NFL season and hosting America's dancing competition, "Dancing With The Stars."

Rather than spilling the details about the call to her co-workers, Andrews continued covering the Sunday game between the Washington Redskins and the Giants. After which, she flew back to L.A. to prepare for her surgery. She has even made his boyfriend, Jarret Stoll, as an excuse for taking off with Monday and Tuesday's taping of the dance competition show that she is hosting. She said that she needed to support Stoll because of a family tragedy, however, she was really planning for her surgery.

On Oct. 11, Variety reported that Andrews went under the knife at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. A couple of days after being successfully treated, she went back to work at the Green Bay Packers' game versus the Dallas Cowboys.

'Should I have been standing for a full game five days after surgery? Let's just say the doctor didn't recommend that,' Andrews said. 'But...sports were my escape. I needed to be with my crew.' On Nov. 11, she flew back to L.A. for another procedure and on Nov. 17, her physician told her a good news that her cancer was treated successfully and she doesn't need radiation or chemotherapy.

Last year may be rough for Andrews as she battled cancer and her lawsuit against her stalker, too. But this only shows how strong she is as she continued working with such professionalism.
