Nintendo has announced pre-order sales for the upcoming gaming console Nintendo Switch. The game will be launched officially on March 3, but the pre-sales have already been started before Christmas.
In a statement, Nintendo American head Reggie Fils-Aime has admitted that the company has underestimated the demand for the gaming console. The demand for Nintendo Switch resembles that of Nintendo Classic Edition, which was launched last year, reports Express.
The American boss expressed that the same mistake won't be repeated as the company is well prepared with the supply chain issues which arise with Nintendo NES classic last year. He further stated that close to 2 million units are ready to supply and more orders can be accommodated in the current strengthened supply chain.
The question arises that how could Nintendo make another blunder like last time. The answer is simple. Nintendo expected only adults between 30-40 years who grew up playing NES as a kid would buy Nontendo Switch. And the 10-year old will go for the NES Classic instead. But that wasn't the case and the demand overshot the supplies at the moment.
Nintendo Switch is available for pre-sale order at a price tag of $299.99 and will be launched in retailer stores from March 3 onwards. However, it is still unclear that exactly how much stock is allotted to each store. But, one thing is certain that each retail store is getting a limited quota of the gaming console, as per Wired.
Gamestop, the US game retailer shop would only get 30 Nintendo Swtich units for sale. These numbers doesn't satisfy the hungry game lovers. Certainly, their excitement is clipped with short-supply of Nintendo Switch.
As soon as the online store is opened, the pre-sales of Nintendo Switch have actually slowed down the server to almost cease its entire business operations. One of the compelling reasons for high demand is Nintendo Store online has allowed buyers is the customization of Switch with assorted Joy-Con colors.
