The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge recently got updated to Android 7.0 Nougat but the result is not that convincing. The latest revamp altered their battery life reducing it to 10 percent.

Initially, there are no particular problems on the flagships of Samsung with Marshmallow until the latest operating system came. According to TNH Online, the Android 7.0 Nougat has been commended for its visible renovation on Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

The handsets have quicker and smoother simultaneous functions as well as enhanced camera software. However, the improvements were being swapped with reduced battery life. While, in fact, the battery performance of Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are fine before the Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade took place.

Consequently, Phone Arena ran some tryouts that normally measure a standard function of all gadgets. The displays of Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge were set to a brightness of 200 nits. Both handsets were then updated to Android 7.0, kernel version 3.18.14.

The Galaxy S7 updated with Android 7.0 Nougat survived until 6 hours. There are 37 minutes decreased battery life compared on Marshmallow, and this is 9.4 percent difference.

The Galaxy S7 Edge, on the other hand, lasted 6 hours and 35 minutes on Android 7.0 Nougat. Whereas it reached 7 hours and 10 minutes on Marshmallow, and this is 8.1 percent distinction.

It's impossible to link the decreased battery life of phones to being old, Phone Arena Reported. The outlet also tested the phones for age-related markdown in battery life and there was just a scanty consideration. Therefore, the diminished battery life is barely due to the Android 7.0 Nougat software renovate.

Unfortunately, what's damage in software can only be settled in software as well. An upcoming update is expected to see whether Samsung returns the original Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge's battery life. Meanwhile, owners of the said phones may just patiently use their phones until the next update will arrive.
