As “Arrow” Season 5 Episode 15, “Fighting Fire with Fire” had long time unknown baddie Prometheus’ identity unmasked. This event then left fans with another problem. Since D.A. Adrian Chase was unexpectedly Prometheus, the fact that Chase was considered to be Vigilante in the comic book was questioned.
According to an interview with IGN, “Arrow” showrunner, Wendy Mericle mentioned that the twist was intentional. Since fans already had Chase to be Vigilante in mind, they thought that it would be fun to tweak up things a bit. Josh Segarra who plays Adrian Chase was also said to be tricked into the thought that his character would be Vigilante in “Arrow” Season 5.
Segarra then said that he doesn’t want to kill the Emerald Archer but damage him inside out. That is to kidnap Susan Williams. He then mentioned Susan to be Prometheus’ important piece in which Oliver wouldn’t catch up to in their game of chess. Yet, as for how long would be Susan remain in his custody isn’t mentioned by the “Arrow” Season 5 bad guy.
"Susan is a very, very important piece and a very good move in the big chess game that's going on” Segarra stated. “And then to get to see that relationship, how it develops between the two, because ... Susan may feel betrayed by Oliver, so it's interesting to see how Chase will try to let's say navigate those waters, how he can get to his next move."
Meanwhile, the synopsis for “Arrow” Season 5 Episode 16 titled “Checkmate” is Oliver (Stephen Amell) to be nearing the discovery of the truth behind Prometheus. On the other side, Helix doesn’t want to help Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) unless she does a favor for them. Yet the fact that who would be Vigilante would still remain a mystery in season 5 as executive producer Marc Guggenheim said in Cinema Blend.
Rest assured, fans could follow up on the revelation of the truth behind Adrian Chase as “Arrow” Season 5 airs every Wednesday at 8:00 PM on The CW. For more TV spoilers like "Game of Thrones" Season 7, visit us here.
