NFL star Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings is seeking for reinstatement to the league, saying he's "anxious to start a new chapter," according to a news report by BBC.
Peterson was put on probation and fined $4,000 after disciplining his son using a tree branch last May in Spring, Texas. After reaching a plea agreement with a Texas court, the athlete will be able to avoid imprisonment. He was originally supposed to have a two-year jail sentence but after reaching a deal with a judge in Conroe, Texas, he will be doing 80 hours of community service instead.
The reinstatement meeting with the NFL league has finished, according to a news article from the NFL website. It states that Peterson and his lawyers and representatives held a meeting with Commissioner Roger Goodell. The league was updated with Peterson's progress as well as with the prescribed counseling and therapy as part of their reinstatement plan. The decision will be announced in a few days.
Peterson shared that he is eager to move on but did not really say if he wants to continue to play for the Vikings, according to NBC Sports. Among the rumored teams where Peterson was to be traded are the Dallas Cowboys, Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, St. Louis Rams, and Washington Redskins, notes SWR.
